Making It Online What Does It Look Like?

Making It Online What Does It Look Like?

We have all been shown how easy it is to make money online, push button simple, passive money doller doller bills yall. The pitch is perfect but who is pitching you? marketers of course der so no wonder the targeting works so well. When I was starting to drift towards working online I saw a action packed trailer about the Rich Jerk a guy that had money, women and online success and he was going to give it all to me for $999 and the icing on the cake was in the video it had Gary Busey who I actually thought was Nick Nolte, Dennis Rodman and adult film star Ron Jeremy. If this guy was rolling with the likes of these superstars then he MUST be making money. Thats the catch I didnt know what influencer marketing was at the time and I bought into that dream shown in the trailer.

For old times sake here is the video that sucked me in (for your reference).

I was watching Graham Stephan, a video where he was discussing how he basically lives rent free in one of his duplexes and spends no money (yet takes in over a mil a year). I think its hilarious and genius at the same time. Frankly after almost 10 years of owning pretty much every kind of super car, getting a giant dream home, flying private…

I can clearly tell you its all fucking stupid and for suckers and anyone flaunting any of these things is just that…a sucker (even myself).

It won’t make you any happier first off. It also loses you money through 1000 pricks and the first rule of making/keeping money is don’t lose money. But this isn’t the real point, especially if you can afford it.

The real point is that true power and control comes from having nothing to lose and nothing to gain financially.

Let me explain.

The guy whose worth 100 million with a 25 million dollar penthouse, jet, 100k a month in hard cost… He is weak and afraid.

First off who is he buying all this stuff for? My house is 1,500 square feet and I use mainly the living areas, main bedroom, the studio and the shed. I stopped going to a gym and moved a home style gym into my home to avoid people especially those noisey d bags at the gym who need to scream for every 10 kilo dumbbell rep (why dude why).

I cannot even imagine having a bigger house and more shit at this point. Stresses me out. So when I see people on Instagram with giant mansions, 10 cars…oww it hurts my head.

You see the 100 million dollar man doing this LITERALLY cannot even use all the things he owns and has to LITERALLY invest absurd amounts of time and dollars into maintaining these things.

My house LITERALLY needs a manager (or my time) and a staff to keep maintained. Out of control.

He lack the ability to focus and he’s also just net losing money. For who? Who the eff is this lifestyle and house for? All those people (losers and leeches) that follow him around and tell him how great he is?

But the TRUE loss here is he has something to LOSE and something GAIN.

See on what end he has to protect all the shit he has and his shit is expensive to protect. He also has to protect his ego which is VERY expensive to protect. God forbid his country club friends see him fly coach or drive a beat up car.

This guy has to maintain an image of success. No matter what his situation and how hes feeling he needs to kiss babies on teh head, shake hands with people who he doesnt even know their names and behave in a professional manner at all times. He probs needs to wear a suit on sundays as well. If you want that lifestyle you my friend are walking into a slave job you dont have freedom, you cant just wear a singlet and boardshorts because its hot as hell out there you need to keep up the image. The moment you drop the image of success that you trained people to know you for you start haemorrhaging cash. The shift in your appearance is linked to how you have portrayed yourself to your audience, if you look like a bogan for a day your market share as a business wiz goes down.

To keep getting paid you will have to keep up the appearance of success. I couldnt live like this heck no I want freedom and autonomy to do what I want when I want. I feel bad for people who are trapped in that charade of success.

The benefits of appearing like a total success is that the people who want to climb the ladder will be extra nice to you, people who think you have actual social reach and influence will GIVE you things, discounted or for free even on loan. The sheep want the wolf in their corner so you see how leveraging an image of success can help people “appear” as an influencer about something. Really interesting social behaviour analysis if you care for that type of thing.

The more of this fake wealth acquired “stuff” you are gifted you need to perform a engagement to validate the reason you were given the goods. More things is more engagement and more engagement in this day and age means more Advertising and promotion and that costs actual money. This all leads to a downward spiral especially for those who dont know business economics well enough to forecast whats the limit of the bubble that they are in.

He is totally restricted from working at his true power. He cannot take hits, he cannot make long term decisions, he cannot stop doing certain things or start doing certain things if they are not in a financial criteria. And its all for not. Because the material shit cannot even be utilised. Anything more than 1,500 SQ per human is ridiculous. We should stop living in excess and start living within our means.

Now on the flip side, picture someone like graham.

A man worth 100 million living in a free duplex.

This guy is a fucking powerhouse.

Why? Well first off total focus and a completely unpolluted optimized mind which is really the key to wealth. None of the persons time or money is also lost to maintaining said shit.

But also the man has no need for money. It is a 100% tool and thats it.

When you have no need for money you have leverage over everyone else who does because everyone else thinks money is VERY VERY important AND you have the mind power to use it.

You also have MASSIVE leverage over the ego driven entrepreneurs. They have a kryptonite that you can twist like a knife over and over and over to get them to do what you want and take bad positions.

If they take a 10 million dollar risk and lose, devastating. If you take a 10 million dollar loss…who cares, reload and take another shot. You have no need for money personally and its MADE for taking risks.

And because you can take risks or constantly dump money into long term positions you will blow away the ego based entrepreneurs whose minds are clouded and constantly trying to play the game with a massive weak spot.

You are a man playing chicken with the world EXCEPT you always win because the rest of the world has something to lose. You can play chicken into a head on collision and still be fine.

And thats where the power comes from because you ALWAYS have the leverage.

You can afford to say fuck you to anything. You can afford to burn bridges or tank things you don’t think are the best long term play. You can afford to pursue things that wont make money for decades but will make billions after.

You can stop what your doing and go after skillsets that don’t automatically pay off.

Its like you are in a boxing match and can throw haymaker after haymaker without fear because your opponent can’t hit you back.

————–

This is why you see so many internet marketers with houses, lambos, jets….Yet nothing to REALLY show for it business wise.

Then you see Bill Gates, Jobs, Warren Buffet, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Jack Maw, Zuckerberg, the Google guys, the AirBnB guys, Branson …. own everything (including the very platforms the internet marketers are showing off on…and their traffic sources, and their literal lively hood)

Men who literally just didn’t give a shit about money or appearance.

They have leverage over everyone and basically control the world.

Because owning things, being “rich” and keeping up with the Kardashians is the suckers game and the men above are the ones who own the game.

The result is the entire rest of the world is their pawn. They are playing a totally different game.

————-

I’ve always kept my expenses to 10% of my income but I find even this silly now. I’m now in the process of getting rid of my house, car, etc and getting my expense to as close to zero as possible.

I think the millionaire that spends $1000 a month is way cooler than the millionaire with the private jet, bottles, hoes and glam and needs to maintain the images of this repeatedly week in and week out. I think the only person who does this well is Dan Blizerian he makes it look effortless and I dont care what he sells I wouldnt buy it I just like to spectate at his show if that makes sense.

The latter is EASY, in fact the entire financial system is designed to make this easy and to absorb the latters money.

The prior has total focus and will build what the world needs regardless of $$ and in return will gain leverage over the world.

The latter is pathetic and weak and just a cash generating pawn for someone like the prior whose convinced him to dance in return for gold coins and gems.

Its literally like Tom Sawyer and the white fence. It’s hilarious.

Anytime I see some “bawling rich guy” that’s all I see now. A court jester dancing like a chimpanzee for precious gems and gold coins. Where do you think he’s getting all those gems and goin coins from? A guy that’s convinced him to become a slave for gems and gold coins…that’s who!

Who owns the banks, the insurance companies, the taxes, the electricity. The people not playing the game or dancing for gold coins.

True power comes from NOT playing the game everyone else thinks is important.

When you do that you suddenly will have the thing that everyone else thinks is important YET you know is worthless. It’s like having a mound of dirt you dug out of your backyard that everyone else things is worth billions.

When you have that you have the thing thats truly important, leverage over others…

OTHER people are the only way you can build anything great, do anything great, achieve anything remarkable and impact the world.

So don’t collect gold coins and gems or listen to people proudly declaring how many gold coins and gems they’ve collected. Listen to the guy who owns the banks and all the news stations not saying anything and driving around in a kia. No one even knows he exist, but everyone is already working for him. Be the smartest man in the room without telling everyone that you are the smartest man in the room. If any of you watch Netflix show Jack Ryan I think that guy is the smartest guy in the room everytime he’s in a room, be Jack Ryan.

I think it’s pretty important to know that success comes from hard work,  failure and learning. The first months to year of your make money online journey will be full of learnings, failures and hard work. I failed more times than I succeeded and Im so glad that I did because I learned from every step what worked and what flopped in the mud. The most important skill you can learn in marketing is failure.

Why You Shouldnt Do Free Work

Why You Shouldnt Do Free Work

Why you should never work for free and I can highlight the why.

This happens all the time and usually its no big deal but the amount of requests for free work has increased ten fold. Having been helping some close friends I had a bit of a moment where I was up late working away on solving my friends problem  and when reviewing the problem had seen that my previous suggestions were not followed. Here I am chasing my tail in circles trying to help someone else and I dont have a problem being buddies but if advice cant be followed I cant really help.
I’m sure you have been here before!

Ok so lets go through my situation, some months ago, a friend of mine asked me to help them come up with a marketing strategy for their supplement business.

Of course as a friend, I wanted to help and I really do enjoy the supplement space as market research, but the reality was that I was pretty overwhelmed with my other work and never got to follow up and help them find a solution for their problem.

I was a dusty to even contact him months later about this. However, I wanted to help him get his new business off the ground and I said that I would help him so I started to think: what can I do in order to help his business het a good start at no cost at all?

Then I thought about his brand positioning and what assets he had and where he wanted to get to, so I went with a customised strategy guide based on HIS business, HIS inventory USP and HIS target audience. I was feeling pretty damn good about the level of work I had put in and the damn value packed into this PDF guide.

Inside this guide I covered the platforms he should be using, organic paid and influencers to connect with. I provided a lot of industry specific examples, methods used in Facebook ads and why they work

even to the point of including 2 to 3 examples of each traffic method and created a solid 20 page how to do it all guide for him to really blow the competition out of the water from month 1

I was smiling ear to ear, super pumped about my contribution to the potential growth of his new supplement business so I went ahead and sent it over to my friend.

Fast forward today 6+ months later, ask me if my friend had even opened the guide? You guessed right, this lazy so and so hasnt even opened it and hes still struggling to get traction with his new business. What a D  bag right?

This is not the first time I see something similar happen to me or even to other people…

The truth is, people don’t see the true value of what you offer unless it costs them some 💰they dont appreciate the value unless you take the $ out of the wallet. This rings so true in every aspect of the word value. Charge for something and dont give it away, dont work for free.

This made me think long and hard about how much value I deliver and how it has been under appreciated so… I made a strategic pivot in my businesses now and have changed some wording on my offers and sales pages. The no free passes rule is in effect, if businesses want a service I deliver they can pay for it the extra value I usually deliver fro free as a value add Ill be adding it as a micro upsell at either $47 or $97 payment add on.

Note Added: After this post I had 3 new clients and I offered the value add on for some paid advertising work I did for them and they all took the $97 micro upsale to get the value add on guide. This looks like it is working for me and I encourage you to do it in your business and monitor the results if it works for your model.

Do yourself (and your clients) a favour and don’t offer free work unless you are brand new starting out in a business and need to build reviews, social proof and just get your feet wet with doing the actual work. This is the ONLY time you should do some free work to help build your business.

What you could do instead is offer your product or service at a discounted price in exchange for a review, testimony or case study, not only will this help you validate that this person is willing to spend some money with you but also it becomes easier to ask for the 💰a second time around 😊.

Overcome Problems with Video Games

When you understand how gamers think you can see that they solve micro problems all day to get to small milestones before completing something bigger like a level. Its this thinking that I believe is a crucial skill marketers need to have to be successful. See below.

If you are having trouble making progress or becoming successful I can almost guarantee that its the way that you or your employees are looking at the problem. I speak to a lot of business owners about business and a lot around roadblocks and things that stop them growing to the next level I find it fascinating.

The #1 reason why people who have unsuccessful or stuck businesses are not moving forward is the outlook of their people, they dont view the problem like video gamers do. Hear me out, when you play games the objective is to level up and beat each level. You beat each level by:

  1. Moving forward through the level
  2. Grabbing power ups and special weapons
  3. Beating a boss
  4. Beating puzzles and riddles

This is problem-solving 101. I couldn’t argue that this is a benefit for business owners any more than I already do.

The first problem is in WoW you know exactly who and what you are. Its literally told to you when you pick your class. From day one you know exactly what you are and what you will be best at. A Mage will lose if he fights with an axe and a warrior will lose if he runs around in wizard robes.

Most people literally have no idea who they are, what they want or what they excel at. Therefore success is frustrating because you’re trying to cast a fireball when you should be swinging an axe. Figure that out and growing is easy/fun and the pain will go away.

Of course your not having fun or good at anything. You are a wizard trying to fight people with a giant warhammer. It’s not going to go well.

Then in WoW people hit their goals by literally cutting off their social life, distractions and repeatedly doing the action that will yield the most results non stop over and over.

I see a lot of my competitors that are nearing success with their niche targets at that almost there point and they get distracted by other channels or techniques making the effectiveness of their main money campaigns drop down to a point they are ripe for taking over. You can tell when they are at this point by the number of channels they start runing ads on, its gone from 1 or 2 channels into 5 or 6. To busy reaching for the stars and not the main objective.

If you are making $500 from your Youtube campaigns and $3,000 from Google Ads. my advice to you is to focus on the channel that’s making you more return on investment. Save Youtube campaigns for when you have time and the extra money to figure it out and make it work OR hire someone that knows how to make it work for you.

Going all-in on a channel that you have not figured out yet while not focusing on a channel that you have working is crazy. Ive always played multiple channels off against each other the same way I run ad group tests to see what type of ad gets traction. The focus on the channel you have results on and really scaling that campaign there is the logical choice, I try not go where everyone else is and look at what works for me and my goals for each campaign.

If you play to your weaknesses and do low yield tasks you will always hate your work and fail to get results. This leads to burn out of your mental state and your budgets. Work smarter not harder.

Spend more time figuring out what you are and what gets the most results. Then stack the deck entirely to your strengths and get a party of people to make up for your weaknesses. Then pick the action that yields the most XP points.

Then you win.

It’s so common sense when it’s in a video game, funny how it’s almost never considered in the real world and then people wonder why they lose. Business people are using a small projectile avatar going head on against a tank character wondering why they couldnt defeat the tank player, der you had no chance with that strategy.

Its to the point that I will only hire people who have played video games and understand upskilling, levelling up and problem-solving to progress when stuck. This is a no brainer for me in everyday life at the agency. If one of the team gets stuck and cant move on it could cost a lot of money by delaying tasks that need to be delivered. The natural thing to do when you encounter a problem in games is to look around for another way or look for the right tool/weapon to help you defeat the problem.

If you take the angle that business can be like passing levels in video games you get a perspective of how to tackle the problems in front of your business. Gamers are the best at what they do they play games break levels and defeat level bosses to get to the next level of the game. Simple when you think of it like this.

Social Media Overload and Taking a Break

Social Media Overload and Taking a Break

After a hell of a week I wanted to browse Facebook for some entertainment and light reading but found nothing but trolling and lower than beginner questions.

When I get home from work I dont mind taking 30 minutes to catch up on Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin and or Twitter. This is good to see what the bro’s are up to and catch up on any industry news.

A takeaway from the last month or two is I’ve noticed more and more that the intelligence factor is diminishing more and more.

It made me think about what if, what if I took time away from social media would I still feel the negative thoughts about people. I don’t know honestly what will happen but I’m happy to try it out.

I have some friends who take regular social media breaks during the year and they say its quite refreshing.

My plan is that starting today I take time away from social media, I do have some Facebook and Pinterest Advertising commitments to manage and my own businesses Facebook ads to manage but in terms of organic social reading, scrolling, commenting and engagement I’m avoiding using these platforms for the next 2 weeks.

What Id like to get out of this?

  • Clarity on what’s important.
  • The why of social media
  • Why do I use it
  • How I feel about people while away
  • How I feel about people when I return
  • Did I feel better, same or worse on the break

I think this will help me see what platforms I should use, what type of content I want to engage with and where I should spend time for work, learning and social engagement.

Trolling on Social Media

There are times I’ve been guilty of trolling a mofo because the post or questions was just so hard to not mess with the original poster.

I’m doing this less and less because it is a HUGE time waste for everyone involved.

I find myself more and more just cringing at the trolling levels people go to. The level some people go to in order to crush someone online is scary, imagine if that person put that energy into something productive.

Beginner Questions at All-Time Low

There are times I’ve read some comments in groups where I participate and I just shake my head at the questions being asked.

We live in the age of tech so we have these great resources for learning stuff especially basics.

  1. Google
  2. Bing
  3. Ask.com
  4. Youtube
  5. Udemy
  6. Wiki How
  7. Wikipedia

The options above are the tip of the learning iceberg. But questions so basic just how on earth did this person make it past the age of 12. I really struggle seeing how this person can be thinking of starting a business.

Being in online marketing you need to know how to problem-solve, fact! I only hire employees that have a gaming background because they just know problem-solving as its the only way you level up in video games.

But how on earth will someone that cant problem solve consider starting a business where they help business with their marketing problems. I just bang my head against the wall and it is happening more and more.

I started a group for helping people understand and navigate the Google My Business platform on facebook and at the time of posting Im sitting on 2.2k members. We get so many questions about people starting abusiness that have no basic understanding of how business works but it is ok the design of the group is to help people understand the platform as it is confusing.

The Admins and Mods are all accomplished marketers and they do take time to help answer questions as much as possible I think our mod team do a fantastic job of vetting spam from real questions.

Asking questions is ok but I just think the most basic of answers can be found in 2 minutes of searching Google or actually trying to do what it is they are asking before asking it lols.

The Sheer Amount of Skin on Instagram

I am all for admiring a womans body there is nothing more beautiful than a woman who is proud of her body and confident in who she is but! and its a big butt haha bad joke.

It’s hard to admit it but even I have to tone down the profiles I follow on Instagram because of the sheer amount of skin. nudity and throwaway flesh content that is on Instagram.

I cant scroll 2 scrolls without seeing a bikini or butt twerking on my feed. I hate to say it but its a sex sells platform. The more you show the more you grow. That’s really sad and I could write for days about influencers and the negatives of building a business based on looks but I won’t go on about that.

It takes a lot for me to want to tune down the nudity from attractive ladies but it turns out there is a threshold for what I can take in visually. Instagram you did it you broke my visual sensors with your overload of nudity.

Recycling Content Claiming to be the Source.

In the Online marketing space innovation is severely lacking and you see it more and more that people will copy paste someone else’s comment or questions and take credit as the source while giving no credit where its due.

I really get the craps about it when the person who does this makes it about them being a thought leader and even worse when someone uses their recycled content and they cry about it because did to them what they just did to someone else. I just don’t get it.

Video Series Idiots of the Internet

So below I just wanted to share my pain without giving specifics as I dont want to name and shame anyone thats not my place. I do follow Joe he is a standout comedian who shines at life observations and he covers my pain so well with his video series called Idiots of the internet. I shared episodes 11-15 here as a taset if you want more subscribe to his channel he is a crack up. Enjoy.

Joe Santagato – Idiots of the Internet videos.

I really think Joe has found the worst of the worst but these types of social interactions happen on the daily it’s so bad and there’s moments I’m looking at my phone with my mouth open just shaking my head.

I struggle with idiots and incompetence and this right here is one reason I’m taking a break from social media to cleanse the intelligence pallet.

I’ll update this when I finish the hiatus. Take a look at your social channels and see if you really need to be on that platform a break could do you good. If you do take a break update me in the comments.

Dropified Review Dropshipping Platform

Dropified Review Dropshipping Platform

Im a big fan of ecommerce and also within the ecommerce space a method of selling products that you don’t hold inventory for known as dropshipping. This is a very lucrative method of ecommerce that I have been using since early 2016. I love not having to hold inventory and handle the logistics of getting my products from point A to point B. This is a very popular method to get started with in ecommerce. The risk is removed and all you really need to do is have a store and drive traffic to the sales pages. Someone else handles the fulfilment, genius.

One of the hardest things in ecommerce is product research. Over the years dropshipping has become more difficult to make a scalable business with due to increases in competitors and drop in product sale amounts. To have a successful dropshipping model you need a product that you can pay a low amount for and resell for a higher price, keeping the difference.

Example: I buy a Drone from AliExpress or Ebay for $19 I will then sell this same product in my store for $75 keeping the left over of the $19. The simplicity of dropshipping suits me just fine.

So how does this software work?

When browsing AliExpress, Ebay or one of the many sites that are partnered with Dropified you can see product information when you hover on products. From there you can click the chrome extension to add and import a product or use that product on one of your product ideas boards that you can further research inside Dropified platform.

Here is a simplified view of how this all works:

What does dropified platform do

So knowing everything I know about dropshipping, product research, importing and exporting products and the sheer amount of work to setup my store and fill it with products after spending hours researching products I am always looking for a way to automate any part of that process. When you run multiple stores you will understand my paid. Now Ive searched far and wide for something to help me manage this process and I have found Dropified to be an answer to my problem.

I love how simple Dropified makes it to research products on the fly. When using the platform I can arrange products by boards and product ideas. I can also integrate straight into image background remover OMG this feature is a welcome addition. You will often find product images with random words, logos on the image of the product and remove background helps remove those with ease. I also really like how easy it is to switch between stores and see exactly what is in my store and what is on my ideas board.

Lets look under the hood and see what Dropified can do.

DROPIFIED FEATURES REVIEWED

With Dropified’s powerful automation, you’ll free up at least 20 hours a week…
so you can spend that precious time with your family (or yourself).

  • Easy Add and Ship Products: No more hours wasted manually adding products to your e-commerce store
  • Time Savings: No more messy spreadsheets placing orders
  • Earn More Money: No more managing all your orders
  • No more grunt work in your drop shipping business!

    Here’s how:

    • Automate practically every automatable piece of your drop ship business—from sourcing to fulfillment
    • It automatically gives you Product Alerts and price change alerts and sends them directly to you
    • You can Source Killer Products from about 100 stores & add them directly to your store with a single click
    • Your customer orders are fulfilled in seconds at Aliexpress and eBay, with a single click
    • The Mark-ups you decide are automatically applied to all or some of the products you see fit
    • Your orders are tracked automatically – Dropified is constantly working in the background

When I originally saw this product being promoted I skipped past it because I wasnt going hardcore on dropshipping and was more hitting the private label and Amazon FBA route. When I did check it out I think it was Chris Record and Chase from Dropfied formerly Shopified that I saw the sales webinar and it actually had merit to it although back then it was a lot less features and more about automating the Shopify process one of the first of its kind.

I purchased this product and began using it, there was a slight learning curve and the training was in depth and very helpful. It came with a really nice add on chrome extension to help import and assign products to boards. I got lost somewhere in the migration from Shopified to Dropified and when I couldnt log onto Shopified anymore I just moved on and thought pfft typical internet marketer BS. I take that back I saw Dropfied somewhere online being promoted and when I looked at it I connected the dots that it was the same platform just renamed. I was furious at first but thought before wasting energy without knowing the reason why it would be easy to ask for help.

In all honesty the guys at Dropified were amazing at connecting my account once I had verified my LTD purchase under the Chris Record deal. I spoke to Chase and team they connected my email to my new account and away I went. The experience has been very enjoyable and I can see all the changes that they have been working on teh backend and even the UI of the platform. So impressed.

Buying new software is always a pain the butt, you have so many questions and often the review images and videos are not even close to what you actually purchase.
